What is ALiGN for Newcomers?
ALiGN is a tool for job seekers to understand their personality traits, and how to apply them professionally. Newcomers to Canada can use ALIGN to support their employment journey.
ALIGN brings together a network of community and industry partners from across the country. These organizations use ALIGN’s functionality to match newcomers to a variety of entry level positions that don’t require previous experience. This allows newcomers to find opportunities that value and utilize the attributes their personalities offer, rather than what’s on their resume.
Why do I need this?
Employers are making an effort to diversify their teams. With ALIGN, we’ve created a new way for employers to connect with talent from underrepresented groups (e.g. visible minorities, newcomers to Canada, persons with disabilities) who may not fit traditional hiring requirements, but whose personality characteristics and skills in areas like problem-solving and leadership make them a great fit.
With ALiGN, employers can create job postings that match them to candidates based on fit.
